Hey, I'm just finishing up the missions in the game with a character I'm intending to turn into a solo farmer. Currently he's a 20 axe w/mo with the following skills equiped:
Healing Breaze
Live Vicariously
Mending
Heal Area
Frenzy
Cyclone Axe
Bonetti's Defense
Executioner's Strike

This character is really good against melee/ranger enemies but is horrible against spell casters, mesmers and the like. I was thinking about exchanging a few skills inorder to balance my character more. Specifically
1. I want to get rid of heal area, its pointless for a solo farmer. I was thinking about either purge condition or remove hex but both have a reasonbly long recharge time which would hurt me if fighting several enemies).
2. Frenzy or Flurry or other? I like the increased attack (makes my adren sky rocket) but I had the double damage recieved penalty of Frenzy. Additionally the reduction in damage dealt (i think its 33%) of Flurry makes me reluctant to equip that. Is there any skill that increases attack speed, with relatively low penalties?
3. Healing Breeze, Live Vicareously, and Mending are an excellent combination to keep my health up, but the latter 2 had a -1 energy regen penalty. This effectively reduces my energy regen to 0, and the only way to get energy is to use bonetti's defense (I love this skill). So would you recommend a replacement to either Live Vicareously or Mending that does not have the regen penalty (and ideally lasts as long as those two)
4. Notice anything wierd about my skill list? Yes, I donot have an elites (I have a few in my possession, but none are of particular interest to me). This is partly because I'm still in the southern shiverpeaks and haven't gotten to the bosses in the Ring Of Fire. Is there any elite skills which work particularily well for a solo farmer?

If anyone wants to comment on any of these, or recommend anything else please do so, I'll appreciate it.

BTW. Most of my attribute points have gone into healing / axe mastery / tactics

Additionally, would you go with Cleave or Executioners Strike? Cleave has a lower adren req so you can use it more, but Executioners does more damage.

Defending against Necros and Mesmers is pretty much impossible. Most farmers look for areas that don't have any spellcasters and mostly warrior enemies. This is why Griffons/Minotaurs and Mountain Trolls are so popular.

Look up the Warrior Monk farming build by I Feel No Pain. It's really effective and since it doesn't rely on weapon damage, it's all armor-ignoring.

I take executioners for the higher damage on my axe W/Mo. As for an elite Gladiators Defense. I totally agree with Rajamic, stay away from casters, if you do decided however to farm casters use holy veil & distracting chop. Holy veil will help against hexes & distracting chop is a interrupt skill. As for enchantments if you going strictly damage i.e. Ettin farming then take balthazars spirit. It will recharge your adrenaline based skills faster. Personally I take mending & if I have to clear mesmers or necros to get to the melee mobs I will also take holy veil. Holy veil I equip to get through the casters. Once I am thru them and to the melee mobs I switch to mending as my only enchantment.
My skills for farming differ slightly pending on where/what I am farming but here is my base set
Executioners Strike, Dismember, distracting chop, Gladiators Defense, Bonettis, Sprint, Mending & healing breeze.
If I have to get through casters I will replace Bonettis with holy veil. Other than that I will take healing sig, another axe adrenaline attack skill, healing touch or endure pain as trade offs again depending on what/where I am going.
